The commitment to serving our veterans stands at the heart of Shoes from the Heart's mission. Established in 2019, the Veterans Program was launched with the aim of providing footwear to homeless veterans and their families in the Columbia, MO area. Thanks to a generous grant from Veterans United, we forged partnerships with key outreach organizations like Welcome Home and VA Hospitals, amplifying our impact on these deserving individuals.
Our dedication goes beyond mere provision; we recognize the specific needs of veterans transitioning back into the workforce. Whether it's steel-toed boots for labor-intensive jobs, non-slip shoes for safety, or dress shoes for professional settings, we tailor our offerings to ensure they have the tools they need to succeed.
The overwhelming success of the Veterans Program prompted its expansion statewide in 2020. Across Missouri, Shoes from the Heart has had the privilege of assisting hundreds of veterans, empowering them with the confidence and dignity that comes from having proper footwear.
