Wearing well-fitted shoes is very important to school-aged children as it boosts confidence, protects their feet and helps to keep them safe during physical exercise. She says “It has been exciting to see how God has blessed this organization from the very beginning. Shoes From the Heart has grown exponentially, touching the lives and feet of people across the country”.

I was born in Columbia Missouri on April 1,1975. I grew up in Clarence a small town in mid Missouri of about 1,000 people. I was the youngest of 3, one brother and one sister. My dad worked for the phone company and my mom was a stay at home mother until I was in middle school. Some of my most fondest memories growing up were spent on my grandpas farm east of of Clarence. I’d say my grandpa was my biggest influence and my heart misses him dearly. After graduating high school in 1993 from South Shelby High
I went to work at the Maytag (Heatube) factory in Clarence where I met my husband of almost 26 years. We married on June 21, 1997. We have 3 sons Cody 32 (stepson), Weston 22 and Trenton 20. We lived in the small town of Callao for almost 10 years before moving to Macon in 2006 where we currently live. After we had our two boys I decided to go to cosmetology school as I have always loved doing hair but after graduating and working a few months in a salon I knew my heart wanted to be home with my boys to raise them so I decided to open my own in home daycare in 2004. Nineteen years later I’m still loving the path God chose for me and that is loving on little children each day, teaching them, guiding them and praying for them. I’m excited to say we just had our first grandchild in January of this year (2023) and we could not be more in love. We will also be welcoming our second grand baby in August so we are filled to the brim with blessings!! In my free time my husband and I love to explore the outdoors walking and hiking. We love taking time out of our busy schedules to do family vacations and spend time together. My most memorable life event was becoming a Christian, getting baptized in 2013 and confessing my faith in Christ. If there is one thing I would want people to remember me for it would be sharing Gods word and being a light for others to see Christ. Many moons ago Shoes from the Heart (Donnie) asked me to be a part of their team and I was thrilled! I remember when this organization was just a thought so I joined the team of board members and have loved watching this organization grow and help those in need. With my busy schedule I don’t get to participate much in what all they do but one thing I can do is continue to pray and praise God for answering prayers for so many families that they have helped.
I graduated from University of Missouri at Columbia with a Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering. Enjoyed a long career working as a technology consultant, marrying technology solutions to business needs.
In my retirement I enjoy scuba diving, traveling, puzzles of all types and volunteering.
I have 3 children and 1 grandchild with whom I spend as much time with as possible.
